The Battle for the Best Beginner DJ Equipment -Numark VS Hercules
Battle for Noob DJ Controller Supremacy
Age-Old Battle for Best Beginner DJ Equipment
The Hercules Inpulse 500 Vs. the Numark Mixtrack Pro Fx
TLDR: First, I wanted the Hercules, but after research, I would buy the Numark.
DJ Gear on the Cheap
Both Controllers and companies have their place in the DJ industry. Looking at the marketing campaigns and brand material gives us some clues.
The Hercules has had a flashy launch with high-quality images, portraying a DJ lifestyle, while the Numark marketing focused on technology.

And The Winner Is…
The Hercules mixer is more visually appealing and looks very impressive. The features are incredible, and it is fantastic how far we have come with controller technology over the past ten years. The Inpulse 500 is a beast of a machine that is perfect for someone who likes to have beautiful and clean user experience with a fully-fledged software pairing.
However, the reason I love the Mixtrack Pro FX by Numark is the simplicity. Long Pitch Sliders for riding tempo and Effects Paddles are big differentiator, and a cool way to trigger effects on the fly. The BPM reading pushes the MIDI controller over the line as the best beginner DJ equipment.
